For Robins you need to place the birdhouse in a well hidden place, on or near the ground (max. up to 1.5 m (4.9ft)) among dense bushes or vines therefore not in the direct sunlight or on the side catching the rain and an obstacle free approach route for the bird. For the Spotted Flycatcher and the Common Hang the birdhouse on a tree or wall, at a height of 1 to 5 m (3.3 to 16.4 ft). Fall is the best season to clean out the nesting box.
